FAQ

You can participate if you meet the following criteria:

• If you live in the canton of Vaud
• If you are the mother or father of a child aged between 1 month and 3 and a half months at the time of the first questionnaire
• If you work or were working before the pregnancy. If you are off work due to illness or accident, unfit for work, or unemployed, this counts as being employed.

The questionnaire is available in French, English, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and Turkish.

* If you have already received the information email,

 You are already registered. You do not need to do anything in particular; you will receive the link to the first questionnaire by email shortly before your child turns 2 months old. You will have until your child is 3 and a half months old to participate.

* If you have heard about the study and would like to register
To register to participate in this study, simply click the "Participate" button in the menu at the top of this page. You will have access to more detailed information about the study and the criteria for taking part. You will need to provide your email address and personal information in order to receive the study information email and, later, the link to the first questionnaire.

Once you receive the ParenTS study information email, you will be registered. This means that you will receive an email to complete the first questionnaire shortly before your child turns 2 months old.

Before completing it:

• You will be asked for your consent to participate in the study;
• We will check whether your situation allows you to participate in the study;
• You will be asked for your bank details (IBAN) so that we can transfer 20 francs to your account for each completed questionnaire.

ou will be able to complete the first 15–20-minute questionnaire from a computer, tablet or smartphone. You will have a deadline to complete it: before your child is 3 and a half months old. You will receive email reminders, so you do not forget.

You will then receive an email shortly before your child turns 7 months old to complete the second 15–20-minute questionnaire.

Finally, you will receive an email shortly before your child turns 12 months old to complete the third and final 15–20-minute questionnaire.

While completing the questionnaire,

• You will be able to take a break: save your answers and resume later. You will receive email reminders, so you do not forget to finish it.
• If your mood changes while completing the questionnaire, or if you feel the need for support, resources will be available. If you need to talk to someone, the association 143.ch La Main Tendue provides a free listening service, 24/7, by phone at 143, chat at 143.ch and email via 143.ch. If you need help, professionals from the Centrale des Solidarités helpline service can answer your questions and guide you toward the right support at 0800 30 30 38.

We want to better understand the influence of work on parents' health and see how it changes over time. We want to propose recommendations that will help parents return to work under conditions better suited to them. That’s why we need you!

Given the importance of your participation and the time needed to complete the questionnaire (about 15–20 minutes), you will receive CHF 20 in compensation for each fully completed questionnaire.

Your participation in this research project will not bring you any direct benefit, but it will help us improve knowledge about the health of parents at work, which is an indirect benefit.

In this way, you also help parents and future parents by contributing to better recognition of their needs in our country.

Yes, your answers will be treated as strictly confidential using the study pseudonym assigned to you. The researchers conducting the statistical analyses will not have access to any data that identifies you. Published results will always concern a large number of participants, making it impossible to identify any individual.

Yes, you are free to withdraw from the study at any time, without justification or consequences. Data already collected will then be used only in coded and de-identified form, in accordance with Swiss law. To withdraw from the survey, contact us here: Contact.

You will receive an email announcing the questionnaire to be completed, as well as reminders so you do not forget.

Only authorized researchers from the ParenTS study will have access to the coded data in order to carry out the analyses. No one else will have access to your personal data.
